Madurai Panthers (MDP) will face Vida Kovai Kings (VKK) in the final of the Tamil Nadu Premier League 2026 on Friday, August 28, at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.

Madurai Panthers booked their place in the final after their Qualifier 1 clash against Trichy Grand Cholas was abandoned due to rain. The match was reduced to 5 overs, with Trichy reaching 50/1 in 4.5 overs before rain brought the contest to an end. As league-stage table toppers, Madurai advanced directly to the final.

Vida Kovai Kings, meanwhile, had to take the longer route. Their Eliminator against IDream Tiruppur Tamizhans was also abandoned due to rain, with Tiruppur at 15/0 after three overs. Kovai progressed to Qualifier 2 by virtue of their higher league-stage position. In Qualifier 2, Kovai produced a dominant performance against Trichy Grand Cholas. They posted 183/5 in 20 overs before bowling Trichy out for just 99 in 15.4 overs, winning the match by 84 runs and securing their place in the final
