Josh Tongue produced one of the deliveries of the series on Day 1 of the third Test between England and Pakistan at Edgbaston in Birmingham. In the 21st over, the right-arm fast-medium bowler sent down a pinpoint yorker that slipped beneath the bat of Mohammad Imran Randhawa and sent the top of off-stump cartwheeling out of the ground.

The dismissal was shared by England Cricket on X, drawing wide attention to the quality of the delivery. Randhawa had walked out at No. 8 on his international debut, making the moment all the more striking for a batter facing Test cricket for the first time.

The third Test is the final match of a three-match series that England had already won 2-0 after the first two games. Joe Root called correctly at the toss and chose to bowl first, a decision that the England seamers justified from the opening session at Edgbaston.

Randhawa was one of three Pakistan debutants in this match, alongside Ghazi Ghori and Razaullah Khan. He had been among five uncapped players called into the Pakistan squad in August 2026 during a difficult tour of England. In the 2026 Pakistan Super League, Randhawa represented Multan Sultans, scoring 50 runs and taking four wickets across six matches before earning his Test call-up.

Tongue's delivery to Randhawa was not an isolated highlight on the day. Earlier in the morning session, he had also clean bowled Pakistan captain Babar Azam for 7 runs, with Pakistan placed at 48 for 5 in the 15th over at that stage. Tongue has built a reputation for removing lower-order batters quickly, and the yorker to Randhawa was a clear example of that skill.
