George Munsey-led Glasgow Cosmics endured a disappointing start to their campaign against Edinburgh Castle Rockers. After being put into bat, Glasgow were bowled out for just 115 runs. The Rockers then chased down the target comfortably, reaching the required total inside 12 overs with seven wickets in hand.
Meanwhile, Dublin Guardians also suffered a heavy defeat in their opening fixture against Belfast Wolves. The Wolves posted a formidable 184/7 in their allotted 20 overs before restricting Dublin to 132/9. As a result, the Guardians went down by 52 runs.
